Clinical Study on Multiple Pinning of the Femoral Neck Fracture

Abstract
|
|
|
20 cases of femoral neck fracture were treated with multiple pinning under image intensifier from June, 1972 to June, 1973. and presented at Department of Orthopedic Surgery, College of Medicine, Korea University.
The results were following;
1. 11 cases (55%) were male and 9 cases (45%) of 20 cases were female. 70% of all cases were observed over g0 years o~ age group.
2. Site of fractures were predominantly 10 (50 %) in transcervical, 2 (10 %) in subcapital, 5 (25 %) in base of neck and 3 (15%) in intertrochanteric region of the femoral neck.
3. The multipe pinnings were used with 4-7 of Knowles pins for internal fixation.
4. 19 cases of 20 cases were functionally and roentgenologically good results.
5. One case of ~0 cases was observed a mild aseptic necrosis of the femoral head as complication in 18 months later of the surgery.
